Due to a cancellation, we have one large room left available on the season opener. It has 6 beds and can sleep upto 12. If unavailable earlier, it’s now open. The water in the Lake is very high, the Yellowstone Cutthroats are filled in the creek spawning right now. We see a few Rainbow/Cutthroat mixes trying to join the fun (and fun it must be, if you watch the water in the harbor for 5 minutes you will witness a good 200 fish surface, doing back flips, you name it-they love this time of year and the opportunity to propagate) It’s amusing how excited the fish are. The pelicans are constantly right in the mouth of the creek eating as many trout as they can, which we try to chase them out as much as we can. But the minute we turn our back they’re back. Hoping for a great opener and good fishing season.

Putting in boat docks as we had our first really nice day today. We put in half of our boat fleet and will hopefully be near our completion tomorrow. The marina was boiling all day long. The fish were jumping like crazy, it was a nice sight after all the bad weather. We kept the Pelicans out as much as possilbe. At one point I chased them out with a boat, one couldn’t even fly he’d eaten so many fish. I could’ve rammed him. Instead I did circles around him to see what he was doing. He puked up a couple fish, then was light enough to fly away. So I guess it’s true what you hear. They eat so many that they sometimes puke them out.
